"working" the Wasatch Front shop hop... day 2

More adventures ...
my second day of
Wasatch Front Shop Hop and...
....more learning and more fun at...

Visitors to the shop would bring in their
passports to be stamped..

There was a vintage vanity case filled...
with fortune cookies.  These fortune cookies
were special! Special? But, you're saying
they look normal.  Well, on the outside they do
"look" normal. On the inside...well, they were special
ordered to have "quilty" fortunes!

There was another vintage suitcase and it was
locked...

Visitors would choose a key and hope they had the
key...to unlock the suitcase...

because....there were lots of goodies inside
that they could choose from!

This is a jar where visitors put their
names and phone numbers for a drawing to win...

This wonderful "bag" filled with wonderful
sewing/quilting goodies.

and more demonstrations...
This was a great demo using the
Big Shot and Sizzix dies to cut fabric for fun quilts.

O! and Cori Blunt from
Chitter Chatter Designs...was here today
to demonstrate her method for doing circle
appliques.

Here she is making her "perfect" circles for her
ant...quilt.

She uses something called....

I'm thinking that I neeed some of these to try
some applique circles for berries, flowers and...
ants!

Here is a better look at the cute...
ants at a picnic. Check out her website
for this pattern and more... click here

and....this is
...Cathy Zimmerman, theeee gal....
behind the register...the phones, the computer, the
printer...behind the counter cutting fabric...
in other words...the gal behind
the store...
Thimbles and Threads!

Thank YOU, Cathy for making
Murder on the Orient Express
such a fun event!
And, thank YOU for letting such a novice employee
such as me...come and "hang-out" when things
were sooo busy!

This is so cool! I love little shops like this...such fun and creative ways to get everyone together! I love the ant quilt and I came across another ant pattern that I was thinking about doing. I don't remember where I saw it, but thought it was darn cute! What a lucky girl you are :)

All those mystery things! They are fabulous. The suitcase the fortune cookies and the Orient Express quilt! I love the ants done with just circles for applique. Sounds like you had a good time.

Wow! 15 shops. I think the most I've had to visit was 12, and 2 of those weren't quilt stores, but, an antique store and a herb store with some antiques. I bought someone elses quilt blocks at those shops. You are having TOO much fun!

Annie,
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I can't say it enough. I wouldn't have made it through the week without you and my other wonderful volunteers and staff. You were troopers through some very long and extremely busy days. I am so glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks too for your wonderful posts covering the Shop Hop at Thimbles. It was fun to see it through someone elses eyes.

You're the best!
