A Valentine giveaway =)

I thought it would be fun to do a Valentine's day - which is in 16 days!  As, I mentioned before, I think that Valentines Day is more than just for sweethearts.  It's a day when we can give thanks and show our love for our friends and family members.  The best way for me to say THANK YOU...to all my blogland friends, is to do giveaways...so

HERE is one for Valentine's Day!

It's a Machine embroidered piece with a tiny pink polka-dot piping.
The border is a fun new Valentine fabric from a Henry Glass collection called,
"Sending My Love"

It was done on my 830LE Bernina
I used the Jumbo hoop so I only had to hoop once.

Isacord thread of several colors, including variegated
It's not finished with a back.  This is so you can decide how you
would like to finish.  You might want to make it into a pillow, a
wallhanging, or possibly in the center of a table topper.

To be entered to win*:

1) please, leave a comment on what fun things you like to do for Valentine's Day
*must be a follower to win

Entries will be closed on Sunday February 3rd, midnight/mountain time.

  1. I live in Denmark where Valentine's Day isn't such a great thing. But my eldest daughter was born on the 13. of February and that is a special day for me.

  2. What a darling Valentine's panel. It would be so cute as a pillow. We sometimes would go out to eat on Valentine's day. My favorite fun thing to do is just spend some time with my sweet hubby.

  4. I get to spend Valentine's Day on the road again this year. Last year my co-worker and I got to spend the evening waiting to get a table at Texas Roadhouse. May have to eat at the hotel this year. It would be faster.

  6. I usually make a yummy dessert to go with our regular evening meal. I made passion fruit and raspberry coulis once and put it on meringues with double cream - yum!!!

  7. I don't know if this is my favorite thing to do on Valentine's because I just had the idea for it this year. I am going to do the 14 days of Valentines for my husband this year! I will do something loving and romantic every day before Valentines Day. . .such as a sweet note, his favorite dessert, a coupon for the car wash, etc. . .Should be fun for both of us! And BTW, love the amazing embroidery.

  12. We don't really do a lot. My husband generally takes the kids and they pick out cards and flowers for me. A few years back I made a heart and wrote each of my kids a note telling them some of the things I love about them right now. They still love that card. I think I'd like to make that a yearly tradition.

  14. On Valentine's Day I like to make a special dessert.
Your embroidery piece is beautiful. Did you make it using the fonts loaded in your Bernina or did you purchase the design? I am always on the lookout for unique embroidery patterns. I haven't seen anything like this one before. I have a Viking SE so my hoop is limited to 6 x 9.

  18. My maiden name was Valentine, so I always give (make) small gifts for my parents and my sister. I also buy a little chocolate for my husband and son. I have a friend who's maiden name is also Valentine (we're not related) and for Valentine's day this year we're going out to lunch for lobster, to celebrate our day. ;->

  19. The hubby and I usually have a special dinner at home, with something yummy and bad for us for dessert. I'll have both the girls on V-Day this year so we'll probably do something special for lunch. My dad always used to bring me and my sister boxes of conversation hearts - so I'd like to start doing something like that for them that they'll always remember!

Pretty embroidered piece - I've got some great fabric that would finish it off just perfectly!!

  20. Typically we celebrate a nice meal out and exchange valentines with the offspring. What a lovely embroidered piece that I'd love to finish into a table quilt! Lucky you having an 830 with a large hoop. What's not to love!

  24. We stay home, sometimes watch the granddaughter so her folks can go out. I will fix something good and give him some chocolate covered cherries he doesn't know I've hid.

  26. Wow, that's a beautiful and generous gift! Last year for Valentine's Day, I did something special that cost about $2, and was probably the best VD gift I ever gave. When hubby came home from work, there were homemade treats with notes for him to follow, room to room, poetry by yours truly, and leading to the boudoir. There was soft music, lavender petals, and a HOT STONE massage awaiting him. Yeh, I googled the stone how-to, and it was the best thing ever! (I happened to have just the right stones outside).

  27. I forgot to say what the $2 was for: a single rose for him, from the grocery.

  28. Valentine's Day is a time I always hope to avoid our Valentine's Day of 2004. My gift then from my loving spouse was a backhoe!

  29. I make frosted & sprinkled heart shaped sugar cookies every Valentine' Day - 10 dozen! I give them to all my friends & family. They look forward to them every year!

  30. A special dinner is usually all we do. I started some special Valentine's placemats a few years ago. Perhaps I'll get them finished this year :)

  31. That is so cute! My husband and I usually just go out to eat for Valentine's Day...and the past couple years it has also been parent-teacher conferences at school...so we go to that first and then out to dinner.

  32. Before the kids came along we'd go out to dinner someplace we normally wouldn't go but now with the kidlets we make some fun snacky type food and have a "picnic" on the great room floor and then it is a make-your-own sundea party to top it off. The chicklets love it.

  33. Annie, your design is absolutely beautiful. Excellent job!!!

I don't really celebrate Valentines Day any more with adults. Now, I help the boys get their school cards and decorate their little mail boxes for their desks. I typically go to their school parties and that's our Valentines Day.

    Smiles,
    Kelly

  34. I follow by e-mail. Thanks for a chance to win this beautiful piece. These days, I sit at home, but when my husband was alive, my favorite Valentine thing was to buy chocolate covered cherries for him. I say for him, but he always shared with me, and there was nothing better than snuggling in front of a fire and sharing a box of chocolate covered cherries!

  35. OH MY GOODNESS! Okay for valentines day.. I like to eat all the little chocolates :) Let's be real here... LOL. DH buys me chocolates and Flowers. That's about all we do for Valentines Day anymore. This year I broke the mold. I stitched a new Valentines Table topper. I have to finish it today. YAY! Won't he be shocked.. I do follow you via GFC.

  37. Well, how sweet is this piece of art! Thank you for sharing the love, dear Annie!
Larry and I usually share a nice dinner and a box of See's Chocolates--nothing like See's, mm,mm. This year finds him in the Philippines on Valentine's Day doing missions work, I'm glad to share such a sweet man with the people there....
At school, Valentine's Day party is called "Jesus Loves Me", and the students are so kind to each other. I enjoy listening to them shout "thank you" to each other during the exchange time. We enjoy the sharing ~

  38. My sweet DH always buys me and any daughters living at home flowers, a card and chocolate and they are at our places that morning on the table. I fix one of his favorite foods for dinner. We only have one daughter at home now so we might even have the evening to ourselves.
I love your embroidery and it is moving me to get my embroidery machine out and get it humming!
