homemade Christmas cards...

I know...this is a little "after the fact".  I took pictures during the Holiday season with the intention to share.  But, the Holidays ran away before I could catch the time.  I had a lot of fun making cards to send to family.  The cards I made are simple.  Yet they have thought and heart put into them.  And. even tho they are Christmas Cards, you might see how the idea could translate into a different themed card.  I apologize for the photography... sorry, it's not soo good.

The card above is the "punch out" left over from punches. I used on other cards. For the dark green around the edges I took a make-up sponge, dipped in the dark green ink and rubbed on the edges. The dots on the card above and the card below are made from the eraser end of a pencil dipped in ink.

The leeeetle star-eee sparkles glued with Elmer's glue

Creativity = MESS?  Or is it I'm just messy???
I DID have fun...even tho I had a "bit" to clean up afterwards.

Have you ever made cards?  They are soooo much cheaper
than buying them!  It's easy and pretty fast too!

I used to make cards. It got to be such a chore, so I quit. Maybe next year I will do them again!

I love homemade cards, but I like to receive them better than making them - lol!!

I had a Christmas party yesterday so it's not too late to share! :) These are so lovely! It's really special to receive something that was made with such love and care.

I always make GIANT messes when I'm doing any kind of paper crafting too :).

I've made them, but decided I needed another hobby like I needed a hole in the head - so I mooch them off a friend of mine who loves to make them, even if she doesn't have a use for them! It works out well for both of us....

Late for last year? nah... early for next year LOL !!! Call yourself organised and no-one will ever know otherwise :)

I have a cousin who always make us a hand made Christmas card and I save them all because I appreciate the effort and beauty of them all.

I think these are great and am encouraging our kids to make home-made cards for their classmates at Christmas, they like noting better than getting messy with glue, but their attention span is sometime rather limited :)

Using the pencil eraser to make the dots is a brilliant idea!

I've never made home made cards but I sure love them.
And just remember 'Creative clutter is better than tidy idleness' At least that's what I tell myself.

I have considered making cards and this post might just give me the shove that I need.

By the way, don't you know that "A messy desk is a sign of genius"?

Annie, its actually a perfect time! Most Christmas Embellishments are super on sale for those starting out! If one makes cards through out the year then they will be ready for them to be used when ever they might need them! Just a thought.
