blogger/picture upload problems...temporary fix

No...you don't HAVE to delete cookies to fix the picture problem.

Are any of you out there are having the same issues that I am?..with uploading pictures from your hard drive to blog posts???  Well, I went out to Mr. Google and posed my question/problem and I was brought back to Blogger "help".  This what Blogger Help suggested.  This suggestion did help me.

There are two rectangles on the far left of the bar where you can decide font and size and color, etc.  The two rectangles you need to locate are "compose" and "HTML".  Up until now...I've always posted to my blog, in the "Compose" mode.  And, up until a week or so ago, I was able to upload pics from my hard drive while in this mode.  Now I can't.  But, if I click on the "HTML" mode, I can! YAY!!.  One problem and the pain of it, is that I have to switch back to "Compose" mode to actually write the post.  And, another problem is, I'm not exactly sure where the pictures are going to come up within the post.  But, it's workable.

Blogger said that this problem is mostly with users of Explorer.  They haven't been aware of this problem with Google Chrome or FireFox.  They are in the process of trying to remedy the problem all together.  But, in the past, I've noticed that problems can take "awhile" to get fixed.  I don't want to complain too loudly, tho.  I LOVE Blogs, Blogging and its a wonderful FREE service (for the most part).  I'm grateful for all that goes into keeping this wonderful form of communication alive, even if it has glitches now and then.  =)

Maybe you have a better option...please, share if you do?  =)

Oh, and PS...my regular email server has been down for almost 24 hours..ugh =(.  So I might not have answered all of your comments from my last blog post.  I'm hoping that gets remedied soon too.

I had the same problem a week ago. I could upload pictures when in the HTML tab when writing the blog post. That was a lot of work (but it worked) so I decided to switch to Firefox and my speeds are up and no spam popping up on screen every two minutes. Good luck!

I use that system - a little slower, but it works and good enough for me.

I made the switch from Explorer to Firefox, and that worked for me. Kind of aggravating, but like you say, it's a free product, and it mostly works, so I'm happy!

My sister in law got me using a program called "Windows Live Writer". It's a great little thing to use to do blog posts, and so easy, and so user friendly! I can do quite a bit more with it than with blogger. I used blogger a long time ago and always had issues with it. But now, since using Windows Live Writer it's so easy! I have a couple of blogs and I can use it to post to either one, or several. Super easy. I would highly recommend it. : )

When I was forced to switch to the new blogger interface, my picture count was quickly being eaten up as blogger auto sizing was twice as large as the old. I found that if I upload my pictures from my computer directly to Picasa, I am able to resize my pictures to 800x600 and add my signature to the picture at the same time. I can then add my pictures to my post directly from Picasa and it does not go against my free picture count. I found this bloggers tips most helpful.

Does the button "Choose Files" not work for you?

My friend thought she could not search for photos on her hard drive because the "Browse" bar was not showing... So I went in to her blog and the "Choose Files" button took me right to my photos..

Of course I was using Mozilla.. may have been the difference.

I'm on Chrome and I've always had to toggle back and forth between compose and html on my blogger blog.

I never use compose. I always use the html choice. You can write there, just like you do in compose. You can cut and paste your pictures if they aren't in the order you want. Use preview in combination with your html and you should have no problems. =) I always use either Firefox or Safari, depending on my mood. =) HTML is the same, whatever browser or whatever type of blog I have, and since I do my own html for web pages, it just made sense. You don't have to know tons of code to do it.

I use Firefox and not Explorer any longer.

Anytime I want to move pix around in my posts, I go to the HTML and copy and past the photo where ever I want it. Don't read HTML? Me either...so I type HERE and BOTTOM above and below the pix and cut and paste between those words.

Works for me :)

I just stumbled on to this problem for my blog. I have used Chrome for a couple years, so the compose / html suggestion didn't work for me.

I ended up having to upload pictures to my Picasa Blogger Album to add them yo my blog post tonight.
