up..down...up...down.

I'm sorry that I didn't really "came back" to Blogland
as I had promised last week.  I did have a wonderful
time while on my trip to Northern Oregon...at
the Northwest Quilt Expo and the
Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival.

But, on the last day of my trip...I started to get
a sore throat which led to quite the congestion,
headache and cough.

Also, our son and his family came a week
early to stay with us...We love to have them
visit...it's just that I came home sick Sunday afternoon
and they were to arrive that evening.

Then, we received some VERY sad news.
An extended family member has been diagnosed
with a cancerous brain tumor...with months to
maybe a year to live.

There was a quilt top sewn together for this
family member.  I needed to machine quilt it
and bind it (in a couple of days).  I still wasn't
feeling quite up to "par".  But, it was an honor
to be asked to participate and I really wanted to do it.
It did get done, I'm happy to say.

I usually don't like to write sad things or complain
thru my blog. Its usually my pleasure to make
people smile and/or laugh.  Share with me...the
ups in life.

But, I just wanted to write and let friends know
that a few ups and a few downs have been
keeping from my computer and keyboard.

This next week, starting Sunday the Oct 2nd and going
thru Oct 7th , I will not have regular access to
my computer or the internet.  There are quite a few
more days in October that will also take me
from my computer.

I apologize for missing several weeks of
Mystery Monday.  But, it's not gone all together
It's just suspended for a wee bit.

I will try to get pictures up as soon as
I can from the Shinanigans in Oregon.

Thank you all for your patience =)

Hugs... will say a prayer! I always feel honored to make a comfort quilt for a loved one. Those quilts mean so much to the recipients.

I've got that crud too... feel better soon!

Most of my summer, and half of September I was gone. I'm still trying to play catch up with my blog reading. Hope you are feeling better by now. I just said a prayer for your family member and your family.
